budget? budget?!? we don't need no stinking budget!

ryan's reviews

features...

Hello there readers. My name's D. Ryan Mowry, and I make my own

no-budget movies, as well as getting my toes crushed in the door of

low-budget movies. So far, through my production company SB-Films (www.sb-films.com), I have made some no-budget flicks. Look me up on the imdb and you can find a few of them.

Last year worked on and acted in a production directed by Scott ("The Stink of Flesh") Phillips and shot by Richard ("Feeding the Masses") Griffin, tenatively titled "Just Buried." You will probably never get a chance to see this film as it was intended by the writers and director, as the people who paid for this film have a decidedly different vision for it than those of us who helped make the film.

In May I was the Assistant Director, Co-Diretor of Photography, and a slew of other things on Scott Phillips' latest feature, "Gimme Skelter." If you are intersted in checking out more info about this flick, see their Myspace site: http://www.myspace.com/gimmeskelter. Personally, I think this movie is gonna rock big time. I'll keep you posted on developments.

Here on my section you will find a repost from my review site, "Ryan's Reviews," which is the first (that I know of) Myspace based review site, and is one of the few review sites around dedicated to no and low-budget filmmaking, as well as the occasional cult and foreign film. For older reviews either go to the original "Ryan's Reviews" site (www.myspace.com/ryansreviews) or my archive on the SB-Films site.

Feel free to drop me a line, letting me know how much you love / hate my reviews or writings by sending a message to ryan@sb-films.com.
