BUDGET FILMMAKER HALLOWEEN CHALLENGE

Following on from our rousing and triumphant complete failure to win last year's 13 Day Halloween Challenge, NEFARIOUS FILMS is entering this year's (slightly different) competition.

The objective is to make a film that relates in some way to the concept of 'The Final Five' and to have it completed by the deadline of October 25th.

I'm pleased to announce that I now have a script written and with the as-ever amazing involvement of OTT FILMS have a cast and crew all ready and set for shooting this weekend. Good things indeed.

PLOT OUTLINE

In a darkened room a group of people hold an occult ritual in an attempt to communicate with the dead. When they start getting picked off by...things...in the darkness they realise that perhaps they have invoked something nastier than spirits of the deceased.

We're going for quite a stylised look for this with plenty of darkness and sound effects and lighting mainly by candles (or at least making it look that way) whose number dwindle as each member of the group dissapears. it's probably an insanely over-ambitious project to attempt in such a short amount of time but hey, what the fuck - I'm an insanely over-ambitious kinda guy.

THE LOCATION

We've very fortunately managed to secure ourselves a crypt to work in. That's an actual crypt. Under a church, in a graveyard, amongst the dead. Nice.

Here's some pics of the location:

This is the incredible graveyard that the location is situated in. It's an amazing place with thousands of beautiful statues and headstones.

It's just a shame we won't be seeing it in the film, perhaps a future project...

This is the church which stands above the crypt.

Impressive I reckon.

View from the shooting area looking towards the entrance area.

This is the same view as the last picture taken only seconds afterwards but I included it due to the curious shape that is now in frame - shilouetted against the light. A person perhaps? Odd seeing as I was alone down there...

The view from the entrance of the crypt, looking into the shooting area. it's dark because there's no electric lights in that area.

The only natural light in the crypt comes from these vents. There are three of them - not alot of light at all.
